These steel frame wood sided gondolas were known as "Big Otis" cars. Coke is a high bulk, low weight commodity which was shipped in these high sided gondolas. They could also carry coal, gypsum, and occasionally wood chips. The levers on the end operate dump gates beneath the car. This appears to be a builders photo. These cars were probably constructed at Angus Shops in Montreal - Date/Photographer unknown.
