Roof Replaced Over Platform

 Windsor Station Montreal
It's been a wet month for many parts of Canada and for Montreal commuters, braving the rain at Windsor Station, umbrellas have been the order of the day.

Montreal - Part of the enclosed area connecting the outdoor passenger train platforms with the concourse at Windsor Station will soon have a new roof.

The new metal structure is expected to be in place by mid-November.

Cost of the project is estimated at $250,000.

Deterioration of the old roof resulted in heavy leakage during bad weather and inconvenience for passengers.

When work is completed commuters and inter-city passengers will use a newly roofed and painted, 50-foot-wide passageway along the south wall of the station linking the concourse with the existing outdoor platforms.

Refurbishing of a portion of the train shed roof will take place concurrently with the construction of new food, newsstand, and ticket facilities on the concourse of Windsor Station.

A 152-seat restaurant will become the centrepiece of the concourse when they and other installations - costing approximately $500,000 - are completed by the end of December. Work on concourse facilities has already begun.
