Photo - Black River Bridge


 
Just before sunrise Monday, 26 Apr 2004, the last train over the old span of the Black River, WI was a very long CP 588 led by Soo 4512 and 2026. Both are former Milwaukee Road units still somewhat in Milwaukee colors. After the train cleared the bridge was removed after almost a century of service. The new bascule lift bridge is being installed during a 60 hour window while CP trains detour via BNSF, IC&E and CN trackage - Matt Carlson.
