E&N Railway Company (1998) Ltd. to Hold Railway Open House

The E&N Railway Company (1998) Ltd. (ENR) will hold a special "E&N Railway Day" Open House on Saturday, 22 May 2004 at Nanaimo, British Columbia.

From 10:30 am to 4 pm on 22 May 2004, ENR welcomes the public to join us for interactive displays and railway safety presentations at the E&N railway station located at 321 Selby Street in historic downtown Nanaimo.

"We are pleased to be able to offer the community a chance to learn more about the importance of the Canadian railway industry and our own E&N railway corridor on Vancouver Island," said Anne Venema, General Manager of the ENR. "Our E&N Railway Day will also give us an opportunity to speak with members of the public on the importance of railway safety. Come and celebrate the railway's participation in the Downtown Nanaimo "Heritage Days"; you could win one of our fabulous door prizes and we have handouts, while they last, for children".

ENR provides rail freight services to various customers on Vancouver Island offering connections to the continental railway network. The company also operates daily inter-city passenger service from Victoria to Courtenay on behalf of VIA Rail Canada, Inc.
