2816 Detoured

Canadian Pacific put on a great trip with 2816 but it was a real pity she wasn't able to run the full route as planned; Vancouver - Kamloops - Golden - Cranbrook - Lethbridge - Calgary.

Instead, the trip ran from Golden to Fort Steele then returned to Canmore on Friday, and on to Calgary, Saturday.

After departing Fort Steele about 10:40 hours, the train reached Golden around 17:00 departing after 19:00 to pass Morants curve at dusk near 22:00.

Heavy rains had damaged a bridge between Calgary and Lethbridge resulting in this route change.
