Return to Work for Engineering Services Employees

To provide for an orderly return to work and to protect on-going operations during the transition period following signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the following process will apply for return to work during the ratification period.
 
In general, employees will return to the position that they held prior to the work stoppage.
 
Employees occupying basic maintenance positions and selected seasonal work crew positions are expected to return to work on Monday, 11 Jun 2007. Details are outlined below.
 
Employees occupying positions on seasonal work crews are expected to return to work at the commencement of their regular work cycle on or about 25 Jun 2007. Providing arrangements are completed for seasonal crew accommodation, catering contractors for boarding car crews, production material distribution and required work blocks, return to work may and should be advanced to work cycles commencing on or about 18 Jun 2007. Required positions and or crews may be recalled in advance of expected start up of production crews, to carry out preparatory work. Expected start up of production crews is detailed below.
 
Employees reporting to work on 7 Jun 2007 or 8 Jun 2007, will not be paid unless they have been called to return to work by their Supervisor for those dates. Employees should be advised of the expected return to work dates below.
 
All Basic Track and All Structures
  • The scheduled return to work date is Monday, 11 Jun 2007, at their regularly assigned starting time;
  • Employees are requested to contact their Supervisor during normal business hours, and confirm that they will be returning to work;
  • Contact should be made by 17:00 hours local time Friday, 8 Jun 2007;
  • Reporting location will be their normal headquarters.
Service Area Surfacing Crews
  • The scheduled return to work date is Monday, 11 Jun 2007;
  • Employees are requested to contact their Supervisor or the Coordinator Machine Operator Qualifications (CMOQ) on the District during normal business hours, and confirm that they will be returning to work. Their Supervisor will confirm their starting time;
  • Reporting location and accommodations will be confirmed with the Crew Supervisor or CMOQ on the District;
  • Contact should be made by 17:00 hours local time Friday, 8 Jun 2007.
Logan Shops, Transcona Rail Plant, and Surrey Rail Plant Employees
  • The scheduled return to work date is Monday, 11 Jun 2007, at their regularly assigned starting time;
  • Employees are requested to contact their Supervisor during normal business hours, and confirm that they will be returning to work;
  • Contact should be made by 17:00 hours local time Friday, 8 Jun 2007.
Production Rail, Tie, and Thermite Crews - BC District, AB District, SK District, MB District, SO District, Atlantic Region
  • The scheduled return to work date for BC Crews working on the Thompson Sd will be Sunday, 24 Jun 2007;
  • The scheduled return to work date for SK and MB Crews working on the Swift Current Sd will be Wednesday, 27 Jun 2007;
  • The scheduled return to work date for AB, SO, and Atlantic Region Crews will be Monday, 25 Jun 2007;
  • Employees are requested to contact their Crew Supervisor or the CMOQ on the District during normal business hours, and confirm that they will be returning to work. Their Supervisor will confirm their starting time;
  • Reporting location and accommodations will be confirmed with the CMOQ on the District;
  • Contact should be made by 17:00 hours local time Friday, 15 Jun 2007.
Production Rail, Tie, and Thermite and Tie Crews - Algoma District working 8/6 work cycles
  • The scheduled return to work date for NO Rail Crew is Tuesday, 26 Jun 2007;
  • The scheduled return to work date for NO Tie Crew is Tuesday, 19 Jun 2007;
  • Employees are requested to contact their Crew Supervisor or the CMOQ on the District during normal business hours, and confirm that they will be returning to work. Their Supervisor will confirm their starting time;
  • Reporting location and accommodations will be confirmed with the Crew Supervisor or CMOQ on the District;
  • Contact should be made by 17:00 hours local time Friday, 15 Jun 2007.
Rail Distribution and Pick Up, and Tie Distribution and Pick Up
  • The scheduled return to work date is Monday 18 Jun 2007;
  • Employees are requested to contact their Crew Supervisor or the CMOQ on the District during normal business hours, and confirm that they will be returning to work. Their Supervisor will confirm their starting time;
  • Reporting location and accommodations will be confirmed with the Crew Supervisor or the CMOQ on the District;
  • Contact should be made by 17:00 hours local time Friday, 15 Jun 2007.
District and SA Utility Crews
  • The scheduled return to work date is Monday 25 Jun 2007;
  • Employees may be re-assigned to Production Rail and Tie Crews to complete required crew consist requirement;
  • Employees are requested to contact their Supervisor or the CMOQ on the District during normal business hours, and confirm that they will be returning to work. Their Supervisor will confirm their starting time;
  • Reporting location and accommodations will be confirmed with the Crew Supervisor or CMOQ on the District;
  • Contact should be made by 17:00 hours local time Friday, 15 Jun 2007.
Field Work Equipment Maintainers
  • The scheduled return to work date is Monday 11 Jun 2007;
  • Employees are requested to contact their Supervisor or the CMOQ on the District during normal business hours, and confirm that they will be returning to work. Their Supervisor will confirm their starting time;
  • Contact should be made by 17:00 hours local time Friday, 8 Jun 2007.
Crew Work Equipment Maintainers
  • The scheduled return to work date is Monday 18 Jun 2007;
  • Employees are requested to contact their Supervisor or the CMOQ on the District during normal business hours, and confirm that they will be returning to work. Their Supervisor will confirm their starting time;
  • Contact should be made by 17:00 hours local time Friday, 15 Jun 2007.
