Woman Hit by Train

A Belleville woman survived being hit by a train this weekend.

The 41-year-old woman was walking along the tracks at about 10:15 a.m. Saturday when she was struck by an eastbound train.

The CP freight train was travelling at about 73 kilometres an hour. Two other people were narrowly missed.

The woman received serious but non-life threatening injuries. The investigation continues.

"Persons are reminded that railway tracks are private property and anyone found on the tracks can be charged with trespassing", Belleville Police said in a media release Sunday.
