Goderich Ontario - This year, Goderich celebrates the significance of the railroad to the town's growth and development.

Goderich's designated heritage CPR station building, with its turret, hip roof, window detail, and red brick, exemplifies the high Victorian design applied to rail stations of the early 1900s.

The CPR railway bridge, also a designated heritage site, and renamed the Menesetung Bridge, was an engineering marvel in 1907 and, as part of the Maitland Trail hiking route, delights tourists and residents.

Goderich's 100th anniversary committee has arranged nearly eight hours of events for 15 Sep 2007 to mark the centenary. That includes a lantern-lit procession at dusk from the station to the bridge and back.
