Savona Track and Station Names
Savona British Columbia - Canadian Pacific's siding at
Savona, Thompson Subdivision milepost 25.2, is being extended in length to 4.2 miles of double track, with a crossover in the middle,
and two new Station names.
A station named "Dodge" will be created at milepost 21.97 which will be the east end of double track. This spot is likely
named for Ed Dodge, previous Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, who retired in 2004.
The crossover in the middle at milepost 24.16 will be named "Tunkwa". This point is just east of the east switch of the
current siding. Tunkwa is named after a local lake and provincial park, located above, and to the south of Savona.
Once complete the new location for Savona will reside at milepost 26.21 which is the west end of the double track.
Construction is quite advanced at this time.
