CPR to Begin 81st Street Crossing Work

Coleman Alberta - Chief Administrative Officer, Gordon Lundy, reported to municipal council that he has received notification from Canadian Pacific Railway that they will begin improvements on the crossing at 81st Street in Coleman.
 
In a letter dated 14 Aug 2008 to the municipality, CPR gave notice that they will begin work on the crossing.
 
"The railway work consists of the addition of gate barrier equipment equipped with LED flashing light signals and constant warning time equipment", said the letter.
 
The work is to begin no sooner than 60 days from the date of the letter and will be completed by 31 Dec 2008.
 
CPR will pay the entire cost of the project.
 
According to an agreement with CPR, the municipality will not raise any objections to the improvements.
