Support Sought for Funding for
Spirit of Sir John A Locomotive

Rust is eating through the tender.

Kingston Ontario - Kingston City Councillors Dorothy Hector and Bill Glover will be supporting a recommendation at Kingston's City Council meeting tonight for funding to restore the Spirit of Sir John A locomotive which sits in Confederation Park behind the tourist information office.
 
The locomotive, a centennial gift from the the Kingston Jaycees to the city in 1967, is in dire need of repair and restoration.
 
It is expected to need over $500,000 of work.
 
The locomotive's centennial is in 2013.
