Crowfoot Creek Alberta - On its first run since 8 Oct 2008, some 20 months ago, Canadian Pacific's Hudson, the Empress, with its kettle overhauled, went on a shakedown run from Calgary to Bassano, some 80 miles east on the Brooks Subdivision.
 
The train returned to Calgary on 06 June 2010.
 
Here we see the majestic steamer pulling its 8 car consist up the grade from Crowfoot Creek, named after Chief Crowfoot, who, after negotiations with Father Albert Lacombe, granted the Canadian Pacific Railway access through this traditional Blackfoot Territory in the 1880's.
