Highway 2A Reopens

Red Deer Alberta - Highway 2A south of Red Deer finally has reopened following a CPR train derailment earlier this week.
 
While Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. had indicated the road would reopen earlier, it actually did not open until Friday afternoon at 4 p.m.
 
The highway had been closed between Mackenzie Road and Lantern Street while crews worked on the derailment involving several cars and an engine.
 
Alberta Transportation said motorists can expect minor delays on Tuesday while crews complete small cleanup operations.
