Man Walking on Tracks Killed by Train

Toronto Ontario - A man is dead after being hit by a Canadian Pacific Railway train in York region Tuesday evening.
 
York police said the victim was walking with his bike eastbound on railway tracks near Highway 27 and Rutherford Road when the incident occurred.
 
The man, whose age is unknown, was pronounced dead on scene.
 
Identification was located at the scene but police have yet to confirm whether it belonged to the man, said Sgt. Laurie Perks of York police.
 
The area was cordoned off for hours after the 7 p.m. collision for an investigation.
 
An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday.
