Salmon Arm British Columbia - Another teen has been killed by a train in Salmon Arm.

RCMP responded to a report of a person being struck by a train just after 1 a.m. Sunday, 26 Sep 2010.

A Canadian Pacific train was travelling westbound through the Raven area.

Staff sergeant Kevin Keane says both the conductor and the engineer noted a person kneeling on the tracks and immediately employed the emergency system of warning signals and braking.

"Despite efforts of the CP crew, the person was struck by the train and died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision," says Keane.

He says the deceased has been identified as 16-year-old Bradley Jackson of Salmon Arm.

The CP Police as well as the Coroners Service continue to investigate this matter.

It is believed the deceased was alone at the time of the incident. Foul play is not suspected, nor are intoxication issues.

This is the second Salmon Arm youth to be killed by a train in the last week. On 22 Sep 2010, 19-year-old Tyrel Colton Goerzen was killed after playing chicken with an oncoming train.
