Rail Crossing Gate Stolen

Chatham Ontario - Chatham-Kent police are investigating the theft of a crossing gate from the Canadian Pacific Railroad on Raleigh Street between Richmond and Harvey streets in Chatham on Tuesday night.
 
Chatham-Kent Crime Stopper is asking if anyone witnessed this area on Tuesday night, or having information that could assist police in finding those responsible, to call 519-351-TIPS (8477) or 1-800-222-TIPS.
 
Crime Stoppers said metal thefts continue to be a big problem and police suspect thieves could be expanding their source of metal.
 
Police are also concerned about the threat to public safety created with the theft of a railway crossing gate.
