Man Charged with Stowing Away on Train

Valley City North Dakota - Barnes County authorities arrested a Vancouver, Washington, man on suspicion of stowing away in a train car on Friday.
 
Philip James Opperman, 27, was riding in a Canadian Pacific Railway car, according to the sheriff's department.
 
CP Railway workers suspected a stowaway and stopped along County Road 21 just north of Valley City.
 
Opperman was arrested on the misdemeanor charge and taken to the Barnes County Jail.
 
According to the dispatch log, Opperman was in the 33rd car behind the locomotive.
