Rail Cars Jump Tracks Near Grenfell

Grenfell Saskatchewan - A train derailment involving more than 30 rail cars has left a huge mess on a grid road near Grenfell but, despite extensive damage, no one was hurt.

The cars jumped the tracks after the westbound train hit a grain truck at an uncontrolled rail crossing Thursday night.

Grain and corn was strewn in the ditch after the accident.

Officials say there were no hazardous materials inside any of the cars and no one was injured.

RCMP and Canadian Pacific Railway are investigating.

A cleanup is expected to begin today.
