Driver Charged After Truck Hits Overpass

Lloydminster Alberta - A man is facing charges after a semi hit an overpass rail bridge, causing part of it to collapse on Highway 16 east of Lloydminster.
 
The semi trailer carrying a large backhoe struck the Canadian Pacific Railway overpass bridge on Highway 16 on the east end of Lloydminster, on 11 Oct 2011.
 
There were no injuries, but access through the area was restricted for several days.
 
Bradley Hein, who is 47, of Makwa, Saskatchewan, has been charged with exceeding the maximum dimensions specified in a permit under the Highway and Transportation Act.
 
Hein is scheduled to appear in provincial court on 12 Dec 2011.
