The Transportation Safety Board of Canada Releases Investigation Report Into the August 2010 Freight Train Derailment Near Airdrie, Alberta

Gatineau Quebec - The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) today released its final investigation report (R10C0086) into the 3 Aug 2010 derailment of a Canadian Pacific Railway freight train near Airdrie, Alberta.
 
On 3 Aug 2010, a freight train consisting of 2 locomotives and 101 cars was proceeding southbound towards Calgary, Alberta, when it derailed 32 cars just north of Airdrie.
 
The derailed cars included 12 pressure tank cars containing anhydrous ammonia.
 
There were no injuries and no product was lost.
