Train Crew Battles Fire in Engine Unit at Alyth Yard

Calgary Alberta - The crew aboard a train helped put out a fire Monday evening at the Alyth railway yard.
 
When the fire department arrived at 6:05 p.m., they found a train with thick, black, smoke emanating from the second engine unit and the crew trying to put it out with two fire extinguishers.
 
Fire crews helped extinguish the blaze on the train, which was headed to Red Deer.
 
There were no injuries.
 
Damage to the engine was described as extensive by the fire department.
