Trains Collide Near Dunmore Derailing Four Cars and Sending One Person to Hospital

Dunmore Alberta - Two Canadian Pacific Railway trains collided east of Dunmore Saturday afternoon, resulting in one person being taken to hospital.

CP spokesman Andy Cummings said it appears two trains travelling in opposite directions struck each other during yard operations, about 1:30 p.m., causing four cars to derail.

It was a conductor on one of the trains who was taken to hospital, Cummings said he was told the conductor was taken as a precaution.

The conductor did not suffer any injuries.

Dunmore is located about 300 kilometres southeast of Calgary, near Medicine Hat.
