CP Investigating Train Derailment
in Lloydminster

Lloydminster Saskatchewan - Canadian Pacific Railway is investigating after a train derailment in Lloydminster.
 
RCMP said the incident happened north of 52 Street at 40 Avenue in that city.
 
According to officials, seven tank cars and the locomotive had derailed and were lying on their side.
 
Diesel fuel was found leaking from the train and was contained at the site by the Lloydminster fire department.
 
Police said residents were not evacuated but traffic was disrupted during the cleanup.
 
A company spokesperson said that the locomotive and cars involved in the incident were moved Saturday afternoon, while the remaining five rail cars were also expected to be moved.
 
Canadian Pacific Rail police will now take over the investigation.
