Regina Man Dies After Being Hit by Train

Regina Saskatchewan - A Regina man is dead after being hit by a freight train west of downtown Regina.
 
It happened at around 6:50 a.m. CST near the corner of York and North Railway streets.
 
Police said the man, 50, was walking along the tracks in the darkness when he was hit by the front engine of the Canadian Pacific Railway train.
 
Staff on the train blew the horn but the man did not respond, police said.
 
The brakes were applied and the train managed to slow somewhat, but it still hit the man with some force.
 
He was taken to hospital with severe injuries.
 
Police said it was confirmed at around 10:30 a.m. that the man had died.
