Saskatoon's 25th Street Opening Stalls

Saskatoon Saskatchewan - Many Saskatoon drivers know first-hand how frustrating it can be to have to wait for a train, but for more than a week?

After a long hot summer of construction, detours, and delays, the City of Saskatoon was set to open the new 25th Street extension to traffic today.

But it's not happening.

In fact, the city had to cancel its official ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday.

Apparently, the Canadian Pacific Railway has not completed its signal testing at the new train crossing.

The city said, in a news release, that it will be "working with Canadian Pacific over the next few days to confirm a new time frame" for the opening of 25th Street.

However, the train crossing signal testing will take at least a week.
