Train Safety

Thunder Bay Ontario - A teenager narrowly avoided serious injury after trying to jump on a moving train.

Thunder Bay Police Service say the individual was one of three youths under the age of 16 who tried to hop aboard the train, but one fell and was almost hit by the wheels.

None of the youths were injured.

They were issued cautions after being tracking down by police.

Police say anyone found on railway property, including rails, bridges, or ease ways, can be arrested under the Railway Safety Act and charged with trespassing.

All railway property is included in the act, even if there are no signs posted in the area.
