CPR Rail Car Leaking Acid
in Southern Alberta Town

Coalhurst Alberta - A rail car leaking phosphoric acid in a southern Alberta town is causing some concern.
 
The Alberta Emergency Management Agency is reporting what it calls a minor release of chemicals by a Canadian Pacific Railway car in Coalhurst.
 
The agency says CPR staff have moved away from the rail car and fire crews are dealing with the leak.
 
The agency says there is no immediate threat to the public.
 
Coalhurst is about 15 kilometres northwest of Lethbridge.
