CP Cars Jump Tracks

Sudbury Ontario - About 50 rail workers are on scene by the train tracks at Elm and Brady streets.

A worker on the scene confirms at least one loaded railway car jumped the tracks.

The worker says it happens every so often.

Workers are currently repairing the track.

The Canadian Pacific Railway say in an email statement at 17:45, on 13 Apr 2015, a slow-moving yard derailment involving seven cars containing lumber and wood pulp products occurred in the Sudbury yard.

There were no spills and all cars remained upright, they say, there were also no injuries and no public safety issues.

"CP's protocols were immediately activated and all safety precautions and measures were taken as our crews responded to the incident," the email states.

An investigation is underway.

This did not impact the main line as this was a yard derailment, according to the Canadian Pacific Railway.
