Canadian Pacific Golf Special


Maple Ridge and Field - Since Canadian Pacific sponsored an LPGA Golf Tournament at the Vancouver Golf Club it sent an executive train from Calgary to Vancouver and return for the event.
 
The golf special deprarted Vancouver Waterfront station as train 32B-24 on a clear sunny day with fifteen cars pulled by GP9U numbers 4107 and 4106 with F9B number 1900 spliced between in the classic A-B-A configuration.
 
The consist included power car 95, "Dominion" 101, "Mount Royal" 73, "Killarney" 71, "Banffshire" 85, "N.R. Crump" 79, "Strathcona" 82, "Van Horne" 77, "Major Rogers" 103, "Royal Wentworth" 78, "Craigellachie" 84, "Mount Stephen" 74, "Assiniboine" 70, and in bright CP red, car 2 and car 1 with the large glass rear window.
 
By the 25 Aug 2015 the train was in Field but it was no longer sunny as forest fires burning in northern Washington sent extensive smoke over most of southern British Columbia.
 
The smoke was so thick it obscured the mountains as you can see in the following photograph taken at Field.
