Please Move Rail Lines

Sudbury Ontario - Dear Mayor Brian Bigger and the city's 12 councillors:

I wish you would join Sudbury in asking Canadian Pacific Railway to move its rail yard and rail line that runs along our beautiful Ramsey Lake out of Sudbury proper and to a place like Cartier because of the Lake Megantic tragedy and the deregulation by our federal government of such dangerous and volatile substances.

The ever increasing amount of tar sands bitumen being transferred in the unsafe DOT 111 tank cars is a part of this federal government's partnership with these self-regulating railroads like Canadian National and Canadian Pacific, which run on a risk management policy instead of the safety management policy of decades ago.

Jean-Raymond Audet.
