Chase RCMP Seek Help Identifying Man Fatally Struck by Train

Chase British Columbia - A man is dead after being struck by a train near Chase, B.C.
 
Chase RCMP received a report of a pedestrian being struck around 16:40, Friday, approximately 5 kilometres west of the village.
 
CP Police services also attended the scene and Chase RCMP performed CPR on the man until Air Ambulance arrived and pronounced him deceased.
 
Police believe the man was walking on the railway tracks when he was struck by an eastbound train.
 
As the man was unknown to the Chase Detachment and was without identification, RCMP are hoping the public can help identify him.
 
He is described as:

  • Caucasian male;
  • 50-60 yrs of age;
  • slim build;
  • short grey hair with a short moustache;
  • blue eyes.

The man was found wearing the following clothing:

  • blue shorts;
  • yellow T-shirt;
  • a black zip-up fleece jacket;
  • Sandals.

The man was seen earlier Friday near the intersection of Shuswap Avenue and the Trans Canada Highway in Chase.
