Christmas Eve Derailment

Marathon Ontario - Canadian Pacific Railway has reopened its main line north of Lake Superior, three days after a derailment west of Marathon.

A CPR spokesperson told Thunder Bay news watch that traffic resumed early Thursday morning near Coldwell, just east of Neys Provincial Park.

Work crews were dispatched Monday afternoon when a freight train derailed.

The spokesperson did not disclose how many cars derailed or what they contained.

However, she said "there were no injuries and no threat to public safety."
