Take a Historic Scenic Train Tour Through Beeton Creek Valley
19 August 2021

Tottenham Ontario - Take a train ride back in time with South Simcoe Railway.

You can enjoy a wonderful trip through the Beeton Creek Valley on this historic train, Ontario's first steam heritage railway.

The volunteer-run Railway has a number of diesel and steam coaches that date back to the 1920s.

These include engine number 1057, built-in 1912, engine number 22, built-in 1960, and the two most commonly used locomotives engine number 703 and 136.

Number 703 is a diesel-electric locomotive that was built in 1948, and number 136 is a steam locomotive that was built in 1883.

These engines aren't the only thing that is vintage, the rails are also a century old, and used to connect Hamilton with Barrie and Collingwood.

Your journey will begin in downtown Tottenham, at the station on Mill Street, and the entire trip takes an hour.

The views are spectacular throughout the beautiful countryside.

The conductor and the staff will give an overview of the railway lines, the train, and how the railways have contributed to making Canada what it is today.

Train tours are usually available from Victoria Day Weekend to Mid October and also during Easter, Halloween, and Christmas Season.

Fall is a wonderful time to visit the Beeton Creek Valley.

You can enjoy the bright and fiery colours of fall in the countryside.

For this year, they are also planning Haunted Halloween Adventure excursions in October, and Santa Claus Express Excursions in November and December.
