Woman Dies After Being Hit by Train in Mile End

Montreal Quebec - A 31-year-old woman died after being hit by a train on the tracks at the north end of Montreal's Mile End
district.
A call to 911 was made around 12:30 said a police spokesperson.
The tracks, which are owned by CP are near Van Horne Avenue and St-Laurent Boulevard.
The place where she was crossing the tracks was not an official train crossing.
The area is very popular with dog walkers, joggers, skiers, and cyclists.
It's common to see holes in the fence around the tracks and people crossing the tracks.
The tracks are right on the border of Plateau-Mont-Royal and Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie boroughs.
