CPR has modified 3 SD40-2 units to be used for future hump service in Calgary. At the present time CP 6611 has been modified for hump service with a General Electric beltpack system installed. There are red strobe lights on the roof halfway down the roof above the dynamic brake grid. This unit is being used as a training engine to train crews on the new GE beltpacks. Until now CPR remote control locomotives in Calgary have employed a CANAC control - 7 Nov 2006 Doug MacKenzie.
