This is the stone cairn marking the Last Spike location that
lies on the north side of the CPR mainline at Craigellachie, British Columbia. It replaced a simple obelisk standing
on the spot in 1927. An enlarged stone base surrounds the 1927 stone cairn with bronze plaques mounted in concrete
atop the stones. This new base was added in 1985 and includes a stone from each of Canada's ten provinces -
