Silver Plume depot lies at the top of the hill at an elevation of 9,178 feet, 406 feet higher than our starting point at Devil's Gate Station. The depot contains a ticket office and souvenir shop. Railroad cars are stored on the siding behind the depot while the tracks in the foreground lead to the engine house off to the right out of the picture.
