V&T number 3 was lettered Canadian Pacific Ry. number 1, and renamed "Yale", when sold to Andrew Onderdonk for his Dominion Government construction contracts along the Fraser and Thompson Canyons in March of 1881. The actual Canadian Pacific Railway Company was incorporated on 16 Feb 1881. Once Onderdonk was done with the locomotive it was sold in 1887 to the Intercolonial Railway of Canada where it was renumbered 188. In 1912 it was renumbered ICR 1023. Subsequently it was rebuilt as a 0-6-0 type in 1914 keeping the same number. It then became Canadian Government Railway 1023, and eventually Canadian National Railway number 7082. The engine was scrapped in 1920.
