Now close to the summit at Virginia City the train approaches Highway 341 overpass which was originally Tunnel 5 until daylighted and replaced with an overpass. Highway 341 is the alternate route up to Virginia City avoiding the steep Highway 342 route through Silver City and Gold Hill.
