The coronavirus has affected the operation of the Furka mountain line steam train.
 
According to those responsible, the start of the season has to be postponed from 13 Jun 2020 to 3 Jul 2020.
 
Due to the restrictions in public life, a lot of preparatory work is behind schedule.
 
The snow removal and repair work planned for mid-May along the route could not take place as planned.
 
Furthermore, the locomotive workshop in Uzwil, and the wagon workshop in Aarau, are currently closed.
 
Operations in the Realp workshop are reduced according to the situation.
 
All of this means that the revision work on locomotives and wagons cannot be carried out according to plan.
