Behind number 53 is the 127-year-old Swanage stone engine shed. One of only six remaining in the UK that are preserved as working steam sheds. Scaffolding has been erected to permit replacement of the roof supports and slate shingles. Replacement could cost as much as £14,000 ($22,280) even with the use of volunteer labour. Your good old fashioned cash would be much appreciated.
