United Steel Company number 22 is a Hunslet 0-6-0ST Austerity built in 1956. Designed for shunting the class became the standard British shunting locomotive during the Second World War. Production continued until 1964 by various manufacturers such as Hunslet, Andrew Barclay Sons & Company, W.G. Bagnall, Hudswell Clarke, Robert Stephenson and Hawthorns, and the Vulcan Foundry. Number 22 is on loan from the Appleby Frodingham Railway Preservation Society.
