Sumpter Valley Railroad
Opens for Season Friday

McEwen Oregon USA - Friday opens the season for the Sumpter Valley Railroad, which operates every weekend from Memorial Day weekend through September.
 
On holiday weekends, the train operates three days with this schedule:
 
10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 3 p.m. from McEwen Station.
 
11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. (one-way only) from Sumpter Station.
 
On regular two-day weekends, the train leaves McEwen Station at 10 a.m., and 1:15 p.m., and from Sumpter at noon, and 3:15 p.m. (one-way only).
 
Round-trip tickets are $16 adults, $14 seniors and military, $11 children, and $45 for a family (two adults and two children).
 
One-way tickets are $11 adults, $9 seniors and military, $7 children, and $30 family.
 
Children younger than 6 receive a complimentary ticket.

Memorial Day weekend also brings the first Sumpter Flea Market of the year, when Sumpter's population booms with vendors and visitors.
 
The flea market runs from Friday through Monday, from 8 a.m. to dusk.
