This photo could have been taken years ago when Prince returned empty slate waggons to the quarries in Blaenau Ffestiniog. As the slate trade dwindled passengers in carriages have become the source of income for the little railway. Over the years the railway has grown to include the Welsh Highland line combining both to become the longest narrow gauge railway in Britain, some 38 1/2 miles in total length. Although commonly call Two Foot Gauge the Ffestiniog is actually 1 foot 11 and 1/2 inches.
