As the car climbs above Aemsigen the forest fades away and bare rock with course alpine grass appears in the valley. The route enters tunnel two with its protective concrete snow shed at each portal. This photo shows the short shed on the upper portal of Tunnel Two viewed from inside Tunnel Three.
