Taken during construction of the second power house at Snoqualmie Falls this shows the gatehouse. An intake behind the dam, and opposite the first generating plant intake by the elevator shaft, led to a tunnel which flowed the water to this holding pond known as the forebay in front of the gatehouse. The gatehouse controlled the flow of water to the penstocks on the opposite side which ran steeply down the hill to the power house near the base of the falls - 21 Apr 1911 Photographer unknown - Snoqualmie Valley Historical Museum.
