Cable Car Valley Station is Erected

Lauterbrunnen Switzerland - Three months after the start of construction of the new Lauterbrunnen-Grütschalp cable car, a replacement for the more than 100-year-old funicular, the structures literally grow out of the ground.

After extensive preparatory work in the two stations at Lauterbrunnen and Grütschalp construction was started, on time, for the supporting structures of the entrance and exit halls.

The same is true for the four cableway supports where extensive preparations were necessary for the construction of foundations.

The steep terrain has demanded an above average use of all participating builders.

Installation of cableway supports is underway and will last until the beginning of September.

The operational opening of the new cable car is expected on 16 Dec 2006.
