This is the rear of Ropley Station viewed from the staff parking lot. On the extreme right lies the brick facade of the modern machine shop building. The grey overcast sky enhances the dull and weather worn exterior of the station. You'd be dull and weather worn too if you were 151-years-old. There are 5 chimneys which were necessary as coal was burned to provide the only heating in various fireplaces throughout the structure.
