British Rail Class 03 shunter D2133, here at Minehead, is a diesel-mechanical locomotive. 230 were produced but only 55 remain preserved. Class 03 units were built for light duties where a larger locomotive was not needed, especially for shunting at locomotive and carriage depots and as station pilots, or where larger or heavier locomotives could not be used.
