Northbound Number 2 has departed Pontsticill and is approaching Dolygaer. A ruling grade of 1 in 37 (2.7 percent) lies ahead which Number 2 can handle without any problem. On the other hand, 0-6-0WT "Graf Schwerin-Lowitz" is incapable of surmounting the grade. If Number 2 isn't serviceable then "Graf Schwerin-Lowitz" must be double-headed with a diesel helper to reach Torpantau. What you don't see in the photo are the thousands of midges swarming around the area.
